A Modern Bluewater Cruiser

Nautor Swan, recognized worldwide for its high-performance sailing yachts, has launched its first hybrid electric model, developed in partnership with Torqeedo from the Boatbuilding Technology Centre, the House of Swan, in Pietarsaari, Finland.

The Swan 88 is part of the Swan Maxi yacht fleet. The new model helps owners reduce the running costs of owning a yacht through chartering.

German Frers is responsible for the naval architecture, and Misa Poggi, an Italian yacht supplier, carried out the chic interior design. Lucio Micheletti, Micheletti + Partners, is responsible for the exterior styling.

Layout

The heart of a Swan yacht is its deck, which on the Swan 88 can be divided into four defined areas. The first three areas are in the cockpit/aft, while the fourth is in the fore section.

The deck winches and steering pedestals are centrally positioned out of the way. All the sailing handling and helm stations enable the skipper to comfortably maneuver the yacht without intruding on the guest's relaxation time.

Guests have easy access to the water via the transom  'Beach Club' swim platform, which can be used for sunbathing, and there is a large tender garage.

Forward of the mast, the space can also be used for sunbathing or as a sunset lounge. The forepeak has a large sail locker and anchor locker. There is also an integrated sprayhood and bimini for complete sun protection.

The appendages dedicated to cruising are a moderate draft fin T-keel of 13 feet (4 meters) and twin rudders for reduced draught and increased safety and balance.

A stylish guest cockpit features a coachroof and hull windows designed to let natural light flood in from the stunning 'atrium' companionway. The cockpit's modular furniture can be configured for either lounging or formal dining.

Utilizing Lightweight Materials

The carbon fiber epoxy-constructed hull and deck utilize tSprint® lamination technology combined with the boatyard's proprietary advanced carbon mold technology that provides maximum operational efficiency in the water.

By Appointment: Swan 88

The maxi yacht will make its worldwide début at the Cannes Yachting Festival, from September 10-15 and Monaco Yacht Show, and at Monaco Yacht Show from September 25 - 28. Other Swan models being exhibited include the 98, 100, 108, 120 and 128 in the Swan Maxi line.
